The party took the day to rest up and divy up the gear and supplies. Andy and Dave traveled the afound the familiar woods with hopes to find a deer to kill to add to their food stores, but their search was fruitless. While DJ was making his gear as silent as possible he voiced his consern to Troy White about the amount of gear he was lugging around. Justin kept talking about that light attendants tits from the other day. Everyone was giving Tony a wide birth after his "episode" in the early dark hours of the morning.
As the sun sets in the new world the party launches the canoes back in to the St. Sebastian River. They begin their silent trip back to the north with all the hope in the world that they will soon be reunited with their families.
To be continued Saturday!

Interjection!
I came across White's comment and thought it should be brought to the forefront.
T.A. Wite
"I think we should check on the deputy. I don't think we should just abandon him to the whims of mob justice especially when he had nothing to do with the situation that caused the mob to form. We don't even know what is going on yet"

The fork in the road.
After taking the day to rest up, devide up the gear water and foodstuffs the party begins to formulate a plan to travel by night and use the waterways to navigate their way back north to their families. On top of their personal gear each member now has a pack with a personal tent, sleeping bag, enough foodstuffs for 5 days and about 5 gallons of water between them all.
Before they set out Andy and Dave plan on tracking the local deer that have been in and out of their campsite all weekend long to try and bag some more food to make jerkey out of. While traveling Troy plans to use the pump water filtration system to resupply the water, Dave also offers up his water purification tablets which will make safe 25 gallons of water.
Andy believes his wife was at the family horse stables in Malabar and that appears to be the party's first stop on their quest. After that the party will use the waterways to attempt to reconnect with Dave and Tony's loved ones. Depending on that outcome the party will then travel to hook up with Dj's, then justin and lastly Troys family.
The overall question remains, "what caused all this?" More presently is the group going to attempt to raid the mansion across the river? Or investigate the now vacant Boy Scouts camp? Of just lay low and travel like ghosts in the night to their destination. Even traveling by night this leg of the Sebastian River will take them by a rather populated area and there's no telling what a frightened populace will do to others passing by their territory.

There goes the neighborhood.
"Up and over" DJ grumbled as the group hit the fence. He got down on all fours to create a human step up. Andy was the first to make the assent over the fence and was promptly tackled by one Tony Rimerez who was comming to the fence to investigate the commotion of the newest melee that just ended. Tony, oddly enough who is a coworker of Andy, was visiting a cousin this weekend down in Fellsmiere who happens to live in the development behind the EMS station. Once he realized that the person he just textbook football tackled was none other then his friend and coworker Andrew Tony was taken back and stopped his attack. Questions were asked and a dialogue began to take place between Tony, his family, and the rest of the group who were now one by one hopping the fence to come to Andy's aid. Troy wanted to head around the front of the EMS station to check on the condition of the Sherif officer, but the others talked him out of it.
Once the group was over the fence and were "safe" for the time being they moved inside Tonys cousins house and into the garage. A plan began to form on how everyone was going to try and make their way back up to the Melbourne area to reunite each member with the rest if their family's. Thoughts of travel by boat or by bicycle were tossed about. At this moment there was a slamming sound from the back yard as the perusing locals began to crash into the fence in the back yard. Tonys extended family rushed out to meet this threat head one and a scuffle broke out. After a few blows were landed the locals realized that they were fighting coworkers and friends which were Tonys cousin. The fight promptly ended as Martina (Tonys cousins name) talked down the enraged locals. They responded to him since he was their employer.
The group now joined by Tony and Martina inside Martina's garage were taking stock of their gear and resupplying began to talk more about possible routes North out of town. They seamed to settle on somehow getting a boat. At this point they noticed across the street a few neighbors of Martina apparently working on their truck in the glow of candle light presumably in an attempt to get it running. Martina told the others that they were the Smith family, a friendly lot of folk who are berry outdoorsy and they conveniently ran a kayak and canoe charter business. With this new information Troy, Tony, Dave and Martina sauntered off across the street to see if they could somehow purchase or rent a boat from the Smith family.
Martina started off the conversation with small talk with the Smiths to break the ice. After that Troy began to try his hand at apersuasion to see if they would somehow give up a boat. The first offer to rent a boat was promptly denied but then Tony and Troy asked if they could buy two and if they could how much would it cost. The Smiths told them it would cost $1000 to purchase two of their three seater canoes. Knowing the group had nowhere near that amount of cash on them Dave offered to trade them some cash and the two pistols the group had on them in exchange for the boats. Dave, in a failed judgement call told them that one of the firearms had the serial number removed "if they were in to that kinda thing." This prompted Old Man Smith to flat out deny the deal and pointed over to his Mosburg shotgun resting a few feet away and told the group to "get the hell off his property."
The four retreated back across the street and informed the others that the deal won't go thru. This prompted Jusin to jump into action. Moving with a purpose Jusin took one of the 9mm pistols and told the group "fuck this, I'm getting us a boat" as he walked off across the street to brandish his firearm he demanded the Smiths give a Goddamn boat.
This is where shit went south for the Smith family... Quickly...

After the rag tag group snapped out of the adrenaline dump from the fight they realize that they need to get away, and get away fast from their pursuers. There is chatter that they need to sneak off into the early pre-sunrise morning. doing a quick scan they notice directly behind the EMT station is a middle class housing development baited in moonlight. The wayward troupe must now decide! Hop the fence to seek refuge in the development where they may find others to take them in who could possibly be a school teacher named Tony. Or they can toss caution to the wind a take their fight to the local Fellsmire gang.

First Night Continued
With the two survivors loaded into the truck our band gang-busters pushed the truck eastbound on County Road 512 and stopped just before a darkened plaza. The sheriff, now accompanied by two EMT's, thanked them for their efforts. They advised him of the grim situation down the road and hustled to find a brief break from the rain under the awning of a gas station.
To their amazement the woman inside bathed in the glow of candlelight. They had been experimenting with fire for most of the night without any luck. She was apprehensive at first about interacting with them however once she had heard of their heroic deeds she allowed them entrance and offered up her wares.
They stocked up on water and granola and found that matches struck on the inside were able to carry a small amount of flame before burning out quickly. Dave cleaned himself in rainwater and the group continued on to the rescue station.

Self Defense
We swear it was self defense. All we wanted to do was get to Justin's truck. A group of thugs took a break from looting the Sheriff's patrol car to inform us that this was their turf now. We tried to reason but one of them pulled a gun. Luckily it didn't fire. Troy went for the knees, Andy threatened the rest with his crossbow. It seemed to work on a few, but one charged in. He ended up with a machete to the jugular while the second found a knife in his throat after trying to fire his weapon.
The rest finally backed up and allowed us passage.
It has dawned on us that the Sheriff is on his way back and our night has taken a very grave turn for the worse.
Once back at the truck we inspected the weapons and ammunition and found no defect in the firing mechanism or the gun powder. We have also concluded that matches don't strike, lighters don't light and gas is not burning.
What we do know is that the rain keeps falling and those survivors still need medical attention.

The First Night 10/3/14
Welcome to the end.
If you were wondering what happened down at Mullet Creek October 3rd, 2014 you're at the right place.
A string of events occurred around 9:00 P.M. which sent people in search of answers. A loud explosion followed by a burst of light disrupted a rather peaceful night. A group of vacationing campers trekked off into the night only to find their vehicle and electronics dead and useless.
Respond to posts and check back regularly.
Here is an online Dice Roller if you don't have an app or dice handy.
A chaotic scene unfolded as Dave, DJ, and Andy hiked onward to the entrance of the park. A previously large burst of flames quickly subsided amid the unknown wreckage, silhouetting the outline of three lone figures. The group rushed to help.
Justin and Troy wandered from their motionless truck to see the commotion and found themselves assisting a sheriff with the grim task of locating survivors. Together they pulled three unconscious survivors from the chaos. Unfortunately one expired in Justin's arms as he attempted a very unorthodox form of resuscitation. He was quite unprepared for the undertaking.
With full confidence in abilities the sheriff left the troupe to stabilize the survivors while he ran to the rescue station to fetch an EMT. After securing them to a makeshift gurney the five reluctant heroes hiked them out to Fellsmere road where a group of locals met with bad intentions.
