The First Night 10/3/14

Welcome to the end.

If you were wondering what happened down at Mullet Creek October 3rd, 2014 you're at the right place.

A string of events occurred around 9:00 P.M. which sent people in search of answers. A loud explosion followed by a burst of light disrupted a rather peaceful night. A group of vacationing campers trekked off into the night only to find their vehicle and electronics dead and useless.

A chaotic scene unfolded as Dave, DJ, and Andy hiked onward to the entrance of the park. A previously large burst of flames quickly subsided amid the unknown wreckage, silhouetting the outline of three lone figures. The group rushed to help.

Justin and Troy wandered from their motionless truck to see the commotion and found themselves assisting a sheriff with the grim task of locating survivors. Together they pulled three unconscious survivors from the chaos. Unfortunately one expired in Justin's arms as he attempted a very unorthodox form of resuscitation. He was quite unprepared for the undertaking.

With full confidence in abilities the sheriff left the troupe to stabilize the survivors while he ran to the rescue station to fetch an EMT.  After securing them to a makeshift gurney the five reluctant heroes hiked them out to Fellsmere road where a group of locals met with bad intentions.

  1. The group of thirteen or so locals appeared from out of the night with intentions to investigate the fiery crash. When they happened upon the scene of Troy and the others administering medical treatment to the only two survivors the locals spokesperson steped forward and began asking questions in Spanish. After a few exchanges with an obvious language barrier Justin decided he was going to return back to his broken down truck to secure it and grab some supplies. This action prompted one of the locals to step up to interject himself in Justin's path. After a short dialogue between Justin and the irate local it was apparent that the slightly intoxicated Fellsmereian was not about to allow Justin to head off toward his truck. A heated exchange ensued and the drunk local produced a Taurus 9mm pistol, pointed it at Justin and after a forign expletive the man squeezed the trigger. Much to the shock of the group the only sound that echoed in the night was the sound of three distinct click noises.

  2. The motley group of rescuers were in shock due to the surreal events that just transpired. With the third click noise still echoing in the quiet night DJ was the first to spring into action. He quickly ran forward brandishing a michete and in a downward chop buried it in the local mans outstretched gun arm. The would be assailant howled in pain and dropped his firearm while taking a staggering step backwards. This desisave action snapped all the others back to reality and out of their shock. Eight more Fellsmiere locals rushed the group to aid their friend clutching his bleeding arm. While they ran up Andy fired off his trusty hand crossbow at one of theme while Troy moved forward and kneecapped another with a tire iron, doubling him over in pain. Two locals charged at DJ to plow into him but with catlike grace he was able to dodge out of harms way. The locals attacked with fists and knives but due to their intoxication they were far from effective. In the confusion Justin retrieved the dropped fire arm, chambered a new round, extended his arm to the sky and pulled the trigger in an attempt to bring order to the chaos. To his confusion the only noise that followed was another click. Andy and Dave were busy fending off two dark skinned attackers. Andy Drew his michete to fend off his attackers while Dave offered support with his own Buck 110 and camping hatchet. Troy found that his tire iron had a hunger for would be attackers kneecaps and he was more then happy to help quench his weapons thirst. Almost the melee DJ grabbed the original attacker while he was focused on his injured arm and put him in a submission hold with his michete posisitioned against his neck. In a stern voice he barked at the rest of the locals, ordering them to stand down. They obliged and backed away. Once the melee ended there were two locals bleeding out on SR 512 and one sill clutching his arm.
